Role summary Sweatcoin is a London-based and well-funded scale-up with the team of 40 and the mission to make the world more physically active. As our first UX Research hire, you will help us to grow from 7M to 50M+ active users while rewarding and delighting them for being active. This is an opportunity for an experienced UX Researcher to make a mark on our business by helping us to understand the needs, motivations and behaviours of our users. You would be using qualitative and quantitative techniques as well as helping us to set-up an ongoing insight gathering and pre-testing processes to inform our development roadmap and improve the quality of our product. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team you will help to develop innovative product and service concepts that will add real user value. For this role, you will need experience in understanding and identifying unmet user needs by designing and running qualitative and quantitative studies, running data analysis and distilling these findings into easily-digestible briefs and presentations. Ideally, you will also have excelled at creating insights artefacts that enable and inform our product innovation process. Put simply, it rarely gets more exciting than this in terms of ability to influence the product that will have an impact of millions of earthlings. Job responsibilities
- Conduct research investigations that help strategically frame, validate or challenge other forms of research
- Develop ethnographic research and contextual design investigations to understand user behaviour, pain points, needs and aspirations
- Contribute to deep trend analysis
- Analyse and synthesise research results to develop actionable insights
- Bring your research to life through personas, customer journeys, system maps, stories and scenarios Collaborative design and development
- Design and facilitate workshops with multi-disciplinary teams
- Using divergent design thinking techniques for the conceptual development of products, services and/or physical connected form-factors
- Translate and show your understanding of what research means for business ideas
- Converge innovative ideas to a set of digital and tangible products, services and/or physical connected form-factors in partnership with UX/UI designers, product managers and engineers
- Communicate design ideas using various techniques, including product concepts, service models, customer journeys, industrial designs, system maps and/or infographics
- Drive the design strategy and make sure the user perspective is the guiding principle along the whole process
- Iteratively design, test and refine disruptive products and services
Our dream candidate has:
- 2-3 years of relevant experience in customer/user research, strategic/service design and building products
- Experience in a startup, tech company and agile environment is a plus
- A portfolio of work demonstrating strong human-centred design capabilities across a diverse range of projects in B2C or B2B
- Experience with ethnographic, quantitative and qualitative user research, divergent exploration, conceptual development and product design
- General understanding of business models and economics
- Experience working alongside design and business teams to create new product and service concepts is a must
- Strong interpersonal, communication and teaming skills, empathy, willingness to work in interdisciplinary teams and ability to meet deadlines.
