SolarisKit is an award winning clean tech start-up based at the Michelin Scotland Innovation Parc. We are bringing to market the world’s first flat-packable solar thermal collector to help decarbonise heat globally with a strong focus on the global south. We are seeking a final year electrical or mechanical engineering student or recent graduate to work on the development of a photovoltaic powered DC pump station to provide an off-grid solution for our solar hot water system. We require the person to work two days a week on site at the Michelin Scotland Innovation Parc for 3-months to work on this project. We are ideally seeking someone to start early 2022. This is a paid internship.
Essential criteria:
1. Final year electrical or mechanical engineering student of recent graduate
2. Strong communication skills (written and oral) and good interpersonal skills
3. Right to work in the UK
4. Strong problem solving and ‘hands-on’ work style
5. Experience designing and building experiments
Desirable criteria:
1. Experience or interest in solar energy systems
2. Experience using LabVIEW software and National Instruments hardware
3. Basic understanding of lean six sigma
4. Project management experience
