We are looking for a Finance Associate who will support and develop the Seedrs Finance Team. This is a varied role and incorporates data analysis, bookkeeping, credit control, management information, financial crime, compliance, strategic planning and day-to-day business support.
What you’ll do
- Day-to-day responsibility for financial transactions, including processing purchase and sales invoices
- Bookkeeping, reconciliations and assistance with monthly management accounts and yearly statutory accounts
- Day-to-day work alongside the Compliance Team on financial crime controls, and with the Investment Team on operational and campaign matters
- Assistance with payroll, expense processing, and the pension scheme
- Preparation of filings with HMRC including VAT returns
- Liaising with international teams to ensure accurate reporting
- Assist in the coordination of third party relationships with banking, payment and other providers
- Provide regular and ad-hoc support and assistance to the Finance Team on other matters, including analysis of financial data
- Coordinate with other teams with respect of operational processes and projects
What we’re looking for
- A partly-qualified accountant, but candidates who can demonstrate a good understanding of financial and management accounting, and satisfy the other aspects below will be considered
- Preferably a 2:1 or better in accounting, finance, maths or other numbers-driven university degree
- At least 1 year experience working in a professional environment
- Highly competent with Excel (starting with Vlookups and pivot tables), and preferably experience using an accounting software
- Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills and focus on process
- Fluent English and excellent writing and numeracy skills
- Able to use initiative, a good attitude, and a willingness to listen, learn and apply knowledge
- The ability to respect and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
- Interest in FinTech and an enthusiasm for changing the landscape of alternative finance
