The role
Saltee Skincare is looking for a Brand Activation Manager. This person will be an entrepreneurial self-starter with brand experience who will grow to love Saltee as much as the existing Saltee team.
Your role will be to work with their Founders, agencies and freelance teams to ensure that Saltee always remains true to their brand story. Always premium. Always seeking incredible travel moments. They are not looking for the finished article, but someone with energy who is ready to learn.
A track record of executing great activation/marketing ideas helps, but creativity and passion is more important.
The company
Saltee Skincare is a start-up business that has huge ambition within the travel sector and is scaling for growth. Saltee has a disruptive approach, works at great pace and expects to grow rapidly over the next 2 years.
Founders Sam and Patrick have in the last 3 years from a concept to being recognised as “the most chic and eco-friendly sun cream” (Harpers Bazaar). Along the way the team have delivered:
- Product launch with 4 SPFs
- Listings in premium UK outlets such as Selfridges, Harrods, Liberty & Cult Beauty
- Outstanding reviews (product and packaging) across the beauty press including Vogue, Stylist, Sunday Times Style Magazine
- Launch in August 2020 of a premium hand gel: Saltee Hands which won Red Beauty Award for hand gel of 2020
- Distribution in high end hotels in lux locations such as Ibiza, Bali, Barbados & Mykonos
- Huge momentum and brand awareness across social media but particularly on Instagram
Two successful rounds of funding from private equity and angel investors to drive growth in the business going forward.
2022 will be a breakthrough year for Saltee. As the World emerges from Covid and adventurous travel returns – SPF becomes a necessity, a treat and a pre-holiday energiser.
Their retail and travel business is growing fast. Saltee is now looking to activate their direct-to-consumer programmes to ensure they are a well-recognised and celebrated brand.
What will you be doing?
The Saltee Head of Brand Activation will understand what the brand stands for and obsess to ensure that everyone activates the brand to those standards across all our channels at all times.
You won’t necessarily be able to head all these areas immediately but you will be able to add value across most:
- Help to activate and shape their overall brand marketing calendar
- Shape email marketing
- Organic social media activation
- Liaise with their advertising agency on-track
- Activate partner relationships with other brands
- Oversee some of the content creation – image, video and copy
- Create annual marketing activation plans across our key D2C marketing channels
- Support their sales team in building distribution for their products
- Identify partner brand opportunities
- Act as brand police to ensure that Saltee is executed effectively across all channels
- Involved in shaping their retail pop-up opportunities in sunny locations across the British summer
Who are they looking for?
Experience in some form of marketing role is important but critical is a positive attitude which can be demonstrated through past life experiences. Saltee’s new Brand Activation Manager will be someone who is highly persuasive and has a compelling personality.
The right person will show:
- Creativity and energy with an understanding of retail and/or travel
- Track record of great activation/marketing ideas
- Proficiency in interpreting data
- A visual brain
- Good understanding of social media platforms, their respective participants (Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Pinterest etc) and how each platform is deployed by brands in different scenarios
- Ability to challenge the two Founders who will often not have the right answer
