Pirate Studios are the largest music, DJ and production studio provider in the world, with sites across the EU and US. We offer a unique self-service model that allows customers to rehearse 24/7 in our revolutionary new studios. Started in January 2016, we already live in 22 cities, 5 countries, and are opening 28 new site across the world this year.

The Job
We’re looking to recruit multiple experienced Frontend or Backend Developers to join our team. Being excited about music is definitely a bonus, but we have loads of fun and exciting programming projects in the pipeline. Ideas are welcome and many of our improvements come from people in the business suggesting them. Some of the projects we are currently working on are rebuilding our website (front and backend), live streaming from our studios, rolling out a subscription model and developing a mobile app, to name a few.
Technology
Our current primary projects use Elixir, Ruby, React (plus TypeScript), PostgreSQL, and Haskell; with a smattering of Rust and Python for IoT and ML projects. Continuous Integration / Delivery is handled with CircleCI and Git. We work in small project-based teams on our various components, and we have dedicated (and good!) project managers who help give us plenty of time and space to focus on programming.
Location
We’re looking for someone in Bristol to join the team working in our Old Market office. Some flexibility of working location is available, but the majority of your time will be based with the team in Bristol. Some of the dev team work remotely, but all of us are within easy distance of Bristol (or London) and we meet up regularly to discuss/work/beer together.
What we are looking for:
At least 2 years of professional programming experience
Experience with JavaScript or TypeScript (for frontend role)
Willingness to learn new languages and technologies
Fluency in English and good general communication skills
Proficiency in test driven development, high code quality, and documentation
Based in Bristol, UK
What we will provide:
Salary between £30-50k based on experience
