We are working with a new MedTech company that is aiming to help people make behavioral changes in relation to personal health. They are a super high growth health-tech start-up that delivers highly personalised help, at scale. They’ve won design awards, and already helped thousands of people, scaling their current platform to a million users and growing. They’ve raised funding from multiple high-scale investors, and now looking at how they can further expand. They need a Backend engineer to help them build the first of it’s kind digital platform. This is a chance to join a high-growth startup still at relatively early stages, exciting unchartered territory where you will be able to develop and grow fast along with the business, and learn a whole lot along the way. You will be responsible for championing architectural best practices, contributing towards feature discussions and maintaining well documented, consistent code. You must be proactive, well-organised, able to communicate effectively and demonstrate passion for the business. You will also be responsible for delivering tested, scalable APIs using AWS services and Node.js that perform to the highest level. Familiarity with AWS Lambda would be ideal. It is of utmost importance to this business that they find someone who shares their passion and enthusiasm for the mission solving global health problems through digital therapeutics. They need someone who can bring new ideas to the table and is keen to problem-solve and move the product forward; they are paving the way with this type of technology, so need people who want to be a part of creating the technology it will take to get there. Essential Requirements:
- Looking for someone with 3-5 years total engineering experience; ideally either fully focused on back-end development (they will also consider someone if they have 5 years full-stack experience and have been evenly involved in both front & back).
- If you have covered both front & back-end, they ideally want the most recent focussed experience to be in back-end (past 2 years).
- Prior experience with AWS Lambda is necessary (AWS in general)
- MySQL: Should have experience with something similar to MySQL or a relationship database
- Node.js – can usually learn this if you’ve used a similar program that translates
- Jasmine – experience with anything translatable is fine
- Confident building and maintaining APIs
- Maintaining a high level of test coverage
- You have ideally worked at a start-up / app product that has scaled
- You can write maintainable, well-documented code
- Building systems with a focus on security best practices
- Optimising systems for speed and performance
- Ability to work from the London office without sponsorship
- By nature you are a proactive person, able to take initiative in spotting opportunities and finding ways to solve challenges
- You should have an innate curiosity about human behaviour and health
- A passion to solve real-world problems
