We are looking for a new team member with extensive channel management experience within a broadcast or digital media environment to help manage our growing team of Content Editors.
Channel Managers need to be proactive and enthusiastic with a range of skills. The day-to-day role includes managing a team of editors to ensure all assets and metadata uploaded to the channels and platforms are of the highest quality.
They are also expected to strategise and analyse to help the channels grow through Google, Facebook or equivalent analytics. This role will be responsible for multiple channels in the Entertainment roster and regular communication with clients, whilst reporting to the Partnership Manager.
EXPERIENCE
This is not an entry level role. There is no minimum amount of experience required, but we will expect candidates to be able to demonstrate a proven track record of channel management in a business environment, with experience directly managing a team and have a detailed knowledge and understanding of our main platforms (YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok).
The role will entail the successful candidate taking charge of a group of Entertainment channels and overseeing the workload of their team of Content Editors. A strong interest in social video is a prerequisite
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- To oversee a group Entertainment channels across YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok – controlling editorial output across all platforms and ensuring that they continue to grow and expand across all key metrics.
- To manage the workflow of a team of Content Editors within individual channels and on individual platforms.
- To work closely with your Partnership Manager and the Head Of Entertainment, to support their wider strategic goals and direction.
- To suggest new channels and platform accounts to develop and launch and conduct analysis of the market trends to back up those launches.
- Ensure that the highest standards of attention to detail are adhered to and best practice is being implemented rigorously across all channels. Channel Managers are ultimately responsible for all content that is produced and uploaded for their channel and it is their responsibility to check for any mistakes or errors and take responsibility for identifying and correcting any that slip through.
- Own the channel strategy, ensuring that each channel has a strong and consistent voice, subscriber communities are being engaged across multiple platforms using community posts and groups. Ensure that each individual channel brand is consistent with the correct tone of voice and the highest editorial standards.
- Regular communication with clients, making sure that performance is reflective of the demands and expectations of the client, whilst relaying any concerns or issues with the Partnership Manager.
- Present a quarterly review to department senior staff, explaining channel performance and ensuring that these are contributing to wider department and company goals.
- Ensuring application of best practices across all platforms (thumbnails, titles, descriptions, tags, groups, durations etc)
- Responsible for creating and maintaining all channel schedules
- Maintain individual channel pages on the Client and Content tracker to ensure that these accurately reflect the content uploaded and scheduled for each channel.
- Creating custom Usage Policies for videos in line with distribution client requirements
- Day-to-day liaison & training of the Content Editors to educate in all relevant channel management tasks
- Preparation of insights/data as requested by PM/HoD
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE
Qualifications, skills and experience requirements to do the job. Criteria required to get to work at this level.
- Excellent knowledge of social media platforms (YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok), specifically their use of video and the differences between the platforms
- Ability to work under pressure, managing multiple tasks, and an interest in taking on additional responsibilities
- Impeccable spelling and grammar
- A desire to expand channels to their maximum ability with new strategies adhering to the ever-changing algorithms of the different platforms
- Understanding YouTube/Facebook/Instagram analytics in order to effectively monitor channel progress
- Oversee the channel management workflow and work with your Partnership Manager and Senior Operations Manager to proactively change the areas that need improving
- Taking responsibility for your team and mistakes that may occur.
