We are looking for a bright, energetic and diligent individual to join us initially for a 3 month fixed term as a Market Research Intern.
Your mission will be to support our senior management and Sales team to understand our target market in greater depth. You will achieve this by identifying and understanding potential customers and market segments where our software could have value.
The principal activity you will undertake will be desktop research. You will use a variety of online tools to delve into the market. You should also be confident speaking on the phone – where you identify individuals who might be able to give you valuable information, arranging a phone conversation with them may be the best approach. However, please note that this is not a sales or lead generation role so you will not be expected to make outbound sales calls.
You will be working directly with one of the Managing Directors of Alvius who will give you guidance and training. You will also be expected to work with and learn from a range of other colleagues. However, management will be light-touch; you will be given an objective and left to work towards it. You will of course be supported wherever it is needed and we maintain a very friendly and open working culture. But you must be naturally proactive and confident in creating your own momentum.
Responsibilities
- Desktop research on known segments and companies
- Producing written reports and summaries for senior management and the company’s board of directors
- Desktop research to identify unknown opportunities
- Liaising with the sales and management teams to ensure clear direction
- Speaking on the phone with market contacts
- Basic data management: Handling Google Sheets storing market information
Requirements
- We do not expect any prior experience or specific qualification for this role
- However, you must be proactive, able to understand complex issues quickly and have strong attention to detail
- It is likely that you are ambitious, have a strong academic record and are looking to launch a successful career in the business world
