More about the role
Working with the co-founders, Customer Success Manager and Marketing Manager, you’ll be an instrumental member of our fast-growing team. You’ll be responsible for growing our exciting new Matchmaker concierge service, matching event enquiries to venues and helping to convert these into hires. You will own the service, leading it independently and building it into a multi-person team. You will be the voice of the company for our event production and corporate clients, and you’ll be responsible for fostering these relationships and helping to match their briefs to the perfect Canvas venue.
Alongside knocking your Matchmaker conversion targets out of the park, you’ll also have a unique opportunity to manage an exclusive, underground ‘hidden gem’ venue. As the account manager for this location, you’ll be responsible for marketing and managing the full hire life cycle, from brief to contracts to live event days. It’s a unique opportunity to take ownership of your own location, with previous events ranging from immersive theatre and Clerkenwell Design Week, to gaming launches and quirky conferences.
What you will be doing over the next 12 months
We’ll help you quickly become familiar with the Canvas venue portfolio and grasp a thorough knowledge of the exciting London venue market
You’ll identify relevant incoming event briefs and make venue recommendations, matching our venues with big brand and high-profile clients
Keeping track of your conversions of venue recommendations with both event planners and venues
Building a feedback loop and NPS scorecard to measure the success of the service
Recording and analysing data to help guide the successful development of the product, and tracking your progress against set KPIS
Meeting and engaging with high-profile clients and venues to become the first port of call when they’re planning an event
Providing feedback to venues on their standard of enquiry management
Converting and managing enquiries into hires for the venue you’ll be managing
Educating our venues on the positive impact the service is having on their businesses
Your main KPI is to establish and maintain a system to track the number of enquiries you convert into business for our venues and how much that business is worth

1-2 years’ full-time employment, ideally in a relatable role (account management, sales, venue co-ordination)
You have worked extensively on the phone in a professional environment
You have a proven ability to build rapport, to establish and strengthen client relationships
You can demonstrate you’re a master at time management
You’re experienced at working in an agile environment
You’re comfortable with Excel/Google Sheets and/or a CRM
You have previously excelled in a fast paced, target driven environment
You can demonstrate excellent listening and negotiation abilities, and have all-round amazing communication skills
